The survey collected responses from 63 businesses, revealing their top marketing channels for promoting their products and services.

The top channels identified included website and SEO, social media, email, paid digital ads, Google My Business, direct mail, podcasts, SMS (text messaging), and traditional advertising. However, the survey found that many of these channels are underutilized due to lack of expertise and time constraints.

For instance, websites and SEO are often neglected by small businesses, resulting in lost opportunities for growth. Common pitfalls include neglecting mobile optimization, inadequate content strategies, ignoring local SEO, not analyzing data, and skipping on-page SEO. To maximize the potential of these channels, businesses should prioritize mobile optimization, invest in quality content, embrace local SEO, analyze data, and follow on-page SEO best practices.

Another underutilized channel is social media marketing. According to the survey, there is substantial room for improvement in small businesses’ performance on social media. The survey suggests that businesses should stay informed about the ever-changing content marketing and SEO trends to tap into these untapped opportunities.

Other underutilized marketing channels identified include influencer marketing, voice search optimization, and inclusive SEO. By optimizing content and websites for voice search and ensuring websites are accessible and optimized for users with disabilities, businesses can gain a strategic advantage.
